About Balkan Bites Atelier
Where Balkan tradition meets Chicago's modern event scene. We craft grazing tables, artisan boards, and canapés that tell a story—one bite at a time.
The Beginning
Our Story
Balkan Bites Atelier was born from a simple idea: bring the warmth and hospitality of Balkan cuisine to Chicago's event landscape. We noticed that while Chicago had plenty of catering options, few offered the distinctive flavors of the Balkans—smoked Pršuta, creamy Kajmak, tangy Ajvar, and the communal spirit of shared grazing tables.
We started by catering intimate gatherings for friends and family. Word spread. Soon we were styling grazing boards for loft parties, wedding receptions, and corporate events. Today, we serve Chicago and the suburbs within 25 miles, bringing our atelier approach—handcrafted, visually stunning, and always memorable—to every event we touch.

Roasted red pepper and eggplant spread—sweet, smoky, and slightly tangy. A staple of Balkan meze. We make ours in-house for maximum flavor.
In North Macedonia, Ajvar-making is a communal autumn ritual—families roast hundreds of kilos of peppers over open fires.

Our Modern Baklava reimagines the classic: deconstructed crisp phyllo, citrus syrup that cuts the sweetness, and crushed pistachios and walnuts.
In the Balkans, baklava is served at celebrations—weddings, holidays, family gatherings. We bring that tradition to Chicago.
